Biography:

Gerald Crabb

  Gerald Douglas Crabb was born January 2, 1958 in the small rural town of Rosine, Kentucky.  Rosine is the same town where Bill Monroe, the founder of Bluegrass music was born.  At age 5 Gerald sang for the first time in public at a church in Louisville, Kentucky.  Gerald�s love for music was very evident at an early age.  By age 11 he had learned to play the guitar. At age 16 he began his ministry and preached his first sermon in a small church in Kentucky.  

 

  Gerald�s passion for music and ministry has not slowed down.  He has pastored 6 churches, one of which he founded.  He has also written over 250 songs, has had 22 number one songs, has won multiple awards, and founded the internationally known group, The Crabb Family.  Gerald is a national evangelist and sings and preaches over 100 dates a year.  He and his wife Debi are very much involved with Compassion International.

Favorite Food- Soup Dogs (Hot dogs in a bun with Campbell's Vegetable Beef soup poured overtop)

First public performance- At age 5 at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, 19th & Bank St. Louisville, KY (Pastor Boyd Lawson)

At Age 11- Won 1st place at a local talent contest in Livermore, Kentucky.

Learned to play the guitar- Age 11

At age 12- Made several appearances on a Weekly Country music television program "Country Music Jubilee" on Channel 13, Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Saved- At age 16 at "Calvary Tabernacle Church" in Dan Station, Kentucky with Pastor John David Morris & Evangelist John Morris Sr. (John Morris Sr. is 104 years old and still writes a sermon every week and publishes it in a local news paper)

Preached First Sermon- At age 16 at the "Calvary Tabernacle Church"

Pastored 7 Churches- The Church of Philadelphia (Horse Branch, KY.), Warren Ave. Church of God (Bowling Green, KY.), Totz Church of God (Totz, KY.), Coral Hill Church of God (Glasgow, KY.), Oak Grove Church of God (Cromwell, KY.), Hartford Church of God (Hartford, KY.), & Grace Chapel (Philpot, KY.).

Wrote His 1st Gospel Song- In 1978 "It's Almost Time To Say Good-bye" later recorded by the Crabb Family & Christlike.

First professional group to record a Gerald Crabb song- "The Dalton Gang" in 1985 with "Still, Small Voice, later recorded by Ivan Parker & twice by Gold City.

First # 1 song- "Not Even A Stone" December, 1998.
